Summary
Hello!
I am a biologist by training. I received my PhD at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at the ETH Zurich in 2003, for my pioneering work on the development of a software platform for the analysis of Fluorescence Speckle Microscopy applied to the study of cell motility.
I then moved to The Scripps Research Institute, San Diego, California, for my post-doc, where I further developed the software.
I joined the Friedrich Miescher Institute (part of Novartis Research Foundation) in Susan Gasser's group in April 2005 and moved to FMI's Facility for Advanced Imaging and Microscopy in January 2006.
At the FMI I currently work as an image processing and analysis specialist and as a scientific software developer and consultant. I write dedicated software for analyzing microscopy data and, in general, help scientists with their imaging projects.
Starting May 1st, 2012, I will be at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering of the ETH Zurich (in Basel) as a Software and Data Management Engineer in the newly established Single Cell Unit.
I am also involved in a series of open source projects.
